A tribute to the people behind the innovative solutions
The award was first presented in its current form in 2015 to entrepreneur, architect, and designer Claus Dyre for his invention and commercialisation of the linear drain Unidrain.
In 2017, the award was presented to Peer Leth for his efforts in developing and refining wood-based acoustic panels at Troldtekt.
In 2019, Lauritz Rasmussen received the Building Component Award for his persistent work in promoting the use of prefabricated and industrialised timber elements in construction.
In 2021, Claus Juul Nielsen was honoured for his work in breathing new life into one of the world’s oldest building materials – the brick.
In 2023, Niels Thorup Madsen, Jens Jakob Porsmose, and Lars Bo Ibsen were recognised for setting new standards for screw foundations through knowledge, research, and business.
In 2025, Lars Keller, and Simon Ingvartsen, were recognised for their pioneering use of straw wall systems.
